Collagen, Collagen, Collagen! That is the beauty buzzword at the moment, and many of us will do/buy anything to retain that youthful toned skin we love! We know there are millions of topical creams and serums to promote skin elasticity and fight wrinkles, and now there is the idea that the key to making skin healthier starts from within? If you think about it, that makes sense. We all know that a balanced diet a good hydration are KEY to a healthy glow, so orally taking collagen makes sense.

BEAUTYCOL® is a type of collagen supplement that works differently because it is ingested rather than topically applied. Skin serums can really only penetrate the top layer of your skin- which makes those products “short-term” fixes.  BEAUTYCOL®  however, like many other collagen supplements, works to absorb through ingestion and circulate your bloodstream to your skin.

Baka Naturals, the founder company of BEAUTYCOL®, uses type I collagen, which triggers the type 2 and 3 production in the body (so you do not need to take them separately.)

Main ingredients in BEAUTYCOL®

  • Collagen hydrolysate– we consume collagen, collagen levels increase in our bodies.
  • Vitamin C– essential for collagen growth, they go hand-in-hand. More Vitamin C, more collagen production.
  • Hyaluronic acid– helps to retain over 100x its weight in water within skin cells, making it an excellent moisturizer. This results in increased smoothness, softening, and decreased wrinkles.
  • Coenzyme Q10– reduces the breakdown of collagen and has also shown promise as a particularly effective youth booster.
  • Peptan Collagen– bovine raw collagen, a better performing collagen than fish due to its bio-identical features to humans, will hold amino acids together as it has a stronger structure, whereas fish-based collagen will fall apart loosing these amino acids.

Also, is should be noted that Peptan is not a common ingredient in cosmetic supplements since it is expensive. However, Baka Naturals obtains its Peptan collagen from Brazil, straight from Peptan factory, their affiliate facility of Peptan Netherlands. They comply with strict regulations, which is why they are proud to offer consumers a high-quality, effective, and most of all SAFE collagen supplement that has actual results!

Are Face Oils Good For Oily Skin?

Image result for oil on oil

Oily skin affects most of the human population, and it is not pleasant. There are three main factors that cause our skin to be oily (mine included): Genetics, hormone levels, and the weather. These factors cause our sebaceous glands to be overactive and produce more oil, yikes!

In recent years, the skincare industry has exploded with face oils that have been marketed to be good for ALL skin types. But are they really? We’ve all been told at one point that we need to steer clear from oil on our skin, opting us to buy face washes, face masks, scrubs, all that claim to leave our skin as matte as possible. So why should we use face oils….to combat oily skin? Believe it or not, its true.

But before you go and buy the first beauty oil you find, take into consideration which oils are best for oily skin types:

Some oils, particularly plant oils, are the best for oily, acne-prone skin. Our favorite is Jojoba oil. Actually a liquid wax, jojoba oil is very similar to the skin’s own sebum. For this reason, it helps balance oil production in those with oily skin by “tricking” the skin to produce less oil. It’s also packed with antioxidants and fatty acids to protect and moisturize skin.

Another smart choice is Grapeseed oil, because it is so light and absorbs so quickly, you won’t feel like a grease chicken after applying it. It is also filled with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help with cystic acne.

Here are some tips for the oily people who want to start using a face oil

  • Don’t apply too often (once a day, particularly at night is best.)
  • Don’t forget to apply after exfoliation, when your skin is more absorbent to moisturizing products.
  • Consider ingredients (Jojoba & Grapeseed are nice options for oily gals, while Coconut, Sesame, and Shea Butter oil are not.)

Bottom line: Don’t be afraid to add a face oil to your skin care regimen, it can actually work wonders, even to oily skin.
